Modern and Postmodern graphic design

Post Modern

This piece of graphic design work was by El Lissitzky. It was designed within the russian constructivist era (1919), which you can tell by the arbitrary placement of the shapes used in the poster. This design was seen as cutting edge at the time as no one had done anything like this before, it also represents the revolution with the triangle going into the circle, telling people to this.

Modern

A selection of modernist graphic design. You can tell this is modernist design as there is the use of sans-serif typography. Within the design simple shapes and clean layouts are obvious, also the posters are built on grids to make a well structured piece of design. The modernist era was all about simplicity, functionality and beauty of design.
